  This is truly the kind of hardware store you knew as a child, full of help and kindness! My husband went down to Westport Hardware store, knowing they would be closing in a few minutes, to get some nails to send off a big hardwood crate full of artwork. They got him just what he needed, but when he got home, we realized he'd forgotten the top of the crate he'd brought in to show them. Sinking feelings. Ken went to drive back, but we knew it was 15 min. after the store closed. Then the phone rang, Elda, wife of the owner Richard, figured out a way to find out phone number from the credit card, and they would wait for Ken to come! Is that FABULOUS hometown service? Yes, yes, yes.
